I always knew she would break my heart I was punching above my weight from the start And I fell in an early round no doubt In the bedroom I believe that is what they call a knockout So now I've got to get back in the ring No other opponent could mean a thing Reassure me And tell me that.. Forgiveness is not a weakness I want a re-match girl Forgiveness is not a weakness I want a re-match now I'll be your light weight lover Your light weight lover But it's okay to be the underdog It makes some girls tick to bet against the odds If never again we meet between the sheets I'll remember when our team were top of the league And now I am back in the ring Some opponents seem exciting But still it's true that.. Forgiveness is not a weakness I want a re-match girl Forgiveness is not a weakness I want a re-match girl I'll be your light weight lover Your light weight lover

Stormy Skies 02:44
My father warned me, in his subtle way There's more to life than the pay The sting of chemicals in the air Alarm rings for the early shift Do something you love With your days Spend time with family Embrace change Even under stormy skies Stormy Skies With hindsight, looking back The factory was no life to live No fresh air, creativity Something meaningful for you three Do something you love With your days Spend time with family Embrace change Even under stormy skies Stormy Skies

Stop 04:40
I feel like the subject of a shit song Sung by an American in stilettos and a thong There's a dance beat, they call it EDM Not much substance and written by sexist men I need to stop sleeping around Stick with the nice girl and the friends that you've found I need to stop messing around Stick with the nice girl (nice girl....) Is that you? The content of the song I know is wrong The American croons the misogynist tune There's a sexist video like all the hits Lots of skin and plenty of tits I need to stop sleeping around Stick with the nice girl and the friends that you've found I need to stop messing around Stick with the nice girl (nice girl....) Is that you? Stick with the nice girl (nice girl....) Is that you?

Broken 04:33
When sorrow as a feeling Feels familiar and comforting That's how you know Now is the time to show That you could stop searching For a change from the hurting And just let life play Ignore what friends say Broken now Can't love you don't remember how And that is why, you need to stop Stop searching just stop The cycle keeps on Hoping she might be the one But something is missing There's lust but no yearning You keep on, carry on A path of destruction Wish to cause no hurt To a girl oh-so innocent Broken now Can't love don't remember how And that is why, you need to stop Stop searching just stop Broken now Can't love you don't remember how And that is why, you need to stop Stop searching just stop

I'll meet you in the park We can discuss what went wrong and how I broke your heart I'll tell you i'm sorry for my part In my meltdown this christmas I know I smashed all of the table decorations I was a drunken mess, I could hear no persuasion To slow down, take stock, partake in conversation I was already on my way down And I know we can't repair What is in the past will always be there But there's nothing I could have done to avoid this darkened path I know I smashed all of the table decorations I was a drunken mess, I could hear no persuasion To slow down, take stock, partake in conversation I was already on my way down I was already on my way down I was already on my way down down Smokey told me about the tears I was already on my way down I was already on my way down down Smokey told me about the tears - Tears Of A Clown

Just My Luck 02:52
I was your English boy, your reliable fuck Now beneath the southern stars, the constellation of crux No not the first lover, from way down south But you had a hold on me, big lips and pirate mouth 10,000 miles away Thinking back I was quite fond of you Just my luck Just my luck I was your Kiwi girl, a feisty character But you're still in London town, living out the same chapter You won't be my last lover, you know I'm on the radio But I'll sure reminisce, and play you on my show 10,000 miles away Thinking back I was quite fond of you Just my luck Just my luck Just My Luck (C.e.. c.i.. lia) Just My Luck (C.e.. c.i.. lia)

Countertop 02:30
I would like to sleep with you tonight Bend you over the counter top And then I'll regret it in the And then I'll regret it in the morning And like me you wanted too I could see it in your nordic eyes You really wanted me You really did scream that night And now we've had time to reflect Come to think of it Memories are 'handy' in Memories are handy in lonely times I don't regret it I don't regret it this morning

about

Between Lust and Fear, the second record from London’s The Saturday Boy, is to be released worldwide on 26th August 2016 via Northview Records.

Retaining their trademark warm alt-country sounds, brutally honest lyrics and plenty of pedal steel guitar, The Saturday Boy are also pushing boundaries with their second release. “Stormy Skies” edges close to John Martyn/Nick Drake territory, the epic gloomy indie rock of “Table Decorations” is reminiscent of The National, radio friendly melodic pop choruses feature on “Lightweight Lover” and there are even some fuzzy guitar solos…
